- Tummy Tuck
Details for Case #5565
After losing 175 pounds from gastric bypass surgery, this 43-year-old woman wanted a procedure for removing excess fat and skin on her stomach. She met with a board-certified Los Angeles cosmetic surgeon at Marina Plastic Surgery Associates and they decided together that an abdominoplasty, also called a “tummy tuck,” would complement her gastric bypass surgery nicely.
Since she was 175 pounds heavier before, her skin had been stretched out and had lost its elasticity. But her surgeon was able to smooth out the texture and proportionality of her stomach. Excess fat and skin were removed in order to tighten the muscle and fascia of the abdominal wall. Afterwards, her skin was reattached at the location of the incision and the incision was closed using sutures.
She was pleased with the results of her abdominoplasty in Los Angeles. She said that her quality of life has improved substantially because of her procedure following her bariatric surgery. Compared to being 175 pounds heavier, she now can do activities she once couldn’t and can feel more confident in her body overall.
