Details for Case #12861
This 42-year-old man suffered from the skin disorder vitiligo, where the skin loses pigment, resulting in pink patches on skin. Wanting to even out the tone and color of his lips, he decided to look for a surgeon who offered permanent make up in Los Angeles and eagerly scheduled an appointment with one of the talented plastic surgeons at Marina Plastic Surgery Associates.
Similar to tattooing, permanent make up, or micropigmentation, works by injecting pigment under the skin to add permanent color. A relatively quick procedure, micropigmentation is used to treat skin discolorations, cover scars or to add definition to facial features, often with just one treatment. For this patient, permanent make up was the best solution to his concerns. His surgeon mixed a specific pigment to match his skin tone and then used a small, vibrating needle to inject the pigment under his skin.
Shortly after his treatment was completed, these “after” photos were taken. His lips now look even and natural without visible signs of his procedure. He said he was very happy with his experience at our Los Angeles plastic surgery center and was relieved to finally have natural-looking lips.
