Details for Case #12797
This 48-year-old woman was dissatisfied with her lip color. Her natural color had faded over time, leaving her lips too pale and blending into her skin. Rather than spending a lot of money on lipstick over time, this woman decided to contact Marina Plastic Surgery Associates to explore her options for permanent make up in Los Angeles.
Permanent makeup is a process similar to tattooing, where micropigment is injected under the skin to enhance the color. The process, called micropigmentation, can be used to cover scars or even discolored patches of skin, or it can be used to add permanent eyeliner, lipstick or other makeup to the skin.
This patient’s procedure was fairly brief and the use of local anesthesia helped increase comfort.
After it was completed, this patient was asked how she felt about her full-lip micropigmentation and replied that she was very happy. She was glad that the color of her lips was now restored and was eager to show it off.
