- Nose Reshaping
Details for Case #10710
This 50-year-old woman wanted to enhance the look of her nose and smooth out her “puffy” eyelids. She decided to meet with a rhinoplasty specialist in Los Angeles at Marina Plastic Surgery to discuss her options for rhinoplasty (nose surgery) as well as blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) to accomplish her goals. Her board-certified plastic surgeon explained her procedure options thoroughly and, once they had settled on a surgical plan, helped her understand clearly what to expect before, during, and after her procedure.
Rhinoplasty is performed through an incision located either across the columella (the thin strip of tissues separating the nostrils), or else hidden within the nostrils. In this patient’s procedure her surgeon reduced the size of her nasal bridge, creating a straighter and more flattering shape according to her goals, then raised and reshaped the soft tissues at the tip of her nose.
Blepharoplasty can be performed on the upper or lower eyelids, or both. In upper blepharoplasty, the surgeon creates an incision in the upper-lid crease, then removes or repositions excess tissues in that area. Lower-lid surgery may remove or reposition excess skin, fat, or both in order to tighten loose lower lids and smooth out puffy “bags” underneath the eyes.
Taken six weeks after her surgery, this patient’s “after” photos show she has achieved the changes she desired from her Los Angeles nose surgery. Her nose tip has been lifted slightly to create a better angle with her upper lip, and her eyes now have a more alert look. It sometimes takes a few months for patients’ results to develop completely, but this patient is already healing very nicely.
