Details for Case #12465
This 75-year-old woman was concerned about the “smoker’s lines” that had developed above her upper lip and wanted to find a cosmetic treatment to diminish their appearance. Despite the name, smoker’s lines can be caused by a number of things including aging and sun damage. Wanting to have younger-looking lips, she decided to find a talented plastic surgeon in Los Angeles who offered non-surgical options for facial rejuvenation.
When she came to our plastic surgery office for her consultation, she discussed her concerns while her surgeon listened intently. He explained that her best option for non-surgical rejuvenation would be the Pearl Fractional laser. This state-of-the-art laser technology uses heat to encourage the skin to rejuvenate itself naturally, removing sun-damaged tissue and stimulating the growth of new collagen. As the collagen replenishes itself, the skin begins to look and feel healthier and looks fuller and younger.
For this patient, just one treatment would improve the evenness and tone of her skin. In her “after” photos, which were taken just 1 week after her treatment, the improvement is clear. The deep-set and fine lines around her mouth are much fainter and her skin looks more youthful around her lips. When asked how she felt about her treatment, she said she was very pleased with the results.
