- Injectable Fillers
Details for Case #12159
This 64-year-old woman was unhappy with the lines that had formed around her mouth. Wanting to find a treatment that could provide improvement without surgery, she came to Marina Plastic Surgery Associates and spoke with one of the board-certified plastic surgeons about her options.
After examining the “smoker’s lines” on her upper lip, her surgeon suggested that she have BOTOX® Cosmetic injected into her upper lip and Restylane® injected into the corners of her mouth. Despite the name, smoker’s lines are not necessarily caused by smoking, although smoking can certainly contribute – sun damage and age may also play a part. In Los Angeles, BOTOX is typically associated with treating forehead wrinkles, but it can be used to treat other areas of the face, including smoker’s lines. With the addition of the filler Restylane, which adds volume beneath the skin, the wrinkles were greatly diminished around her mouth.
The procedure took less than an hour to complete and the results were almost immediate. When asked how she felt about her treatment with BOTOX and Restylane in Los Angeles, the patient said that she was very pleased with the results.
