This 55-year-old patient was very unhappy with the appearance of the lower part of her face. She had a natural lip asymmetry and her nasolabial folds were very deep. She wanted to speak with a knowledgeable plastic surgeon who could advise her about her options, so she made an appointment with one of the board-certified plastic surgeons at Marina Plastic Surgery Associates.

During her consultation, her surgeon recommended that she have the injectable fillers JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus and Radiesse® to even out her lips and folds. JUVÉDERM Ultra Plus is an injectable gel containing hyaluronic acid, which occurs naturally in the body and reacts with water to provide more volume to the injected area, leaving the face looking smoother. Radiesse is a wrinkle filler which stimulates the growth of new collagen, also giving the skin more volume to smooth wrinkles. The results of both treatments can last over a year.

For this patient, 2 cc’s of Radiesse were injected to her nasolabial folds and 1 cc of Juvederm Ultra Plus was injected to balance her lips. In the “after” photo, her upper lip appears more balanced as her left side matches her right side more. Her nasolabial folds are also dramatically diminished after being treated with Radiesse in Los Angeles.
