- Breast Reduction (for Women)
Details for Case #8892
This 42-year-old woman came to Marina Plastic Surgery Associates complaining of neck and shoulder pain. Her large, heavy breasts (size 36 DDD) had been causing her discomfort for some time, even causing her bra straps to consistently dig into her shoulders, leaving noticeable indentations. She was tired of the pain and wanted to find a surgeon who had a lot of experience with breast reduction in Los Angeles to help her.
When her surgeon met with her, it was clear that a breast reduction could help relieve her neck and shoulder plain, but since her breasts hung lower than they would with the smaller breast size she would have following surgery, her surgeon also recommended that she have a breast lift. In particular, a breast lift procedure using the Laser Bra technique. Developed by Marina Plastic Surgery Associates’ own Dr. Grant Stevens, the Laser Bra procedure uses the skin that is typically removed during breast lift surgery to support the breast and maximize support after surgery. This skin naturally lifts the breast tissue and does not add time to the patient’s recovery.
After her surgery, this patient is now at a comfortable 36 C. Her breasts appear much lighter, which should help alleviate her neck and shoulder pain. When asked how she felt about her new breasts, she said that she felt so much better with her perky and smaller breasts.
