- Breast Reduction (for Women)
Details for Case #8768
This 47 year old woman from Glendora, California came to our office interested in a Beverly Hills Breast Reduction to improve the appearance of her heavy, sagging breasts. At her consultation, her surgeon noted macromastia (an excessive amount of breast tissue) along with ptosis (a medical term for drooping tissue). In addition to breast reduction, a breast lift using the Stevens Laser Bra was recommended.
Breast reduction not only can improve the appearance of the breasts, but also can dramatically enhance a woman’s upper body comfort and increase her level of activity. Over the years, this patient had experienced the excessive bra strap grooves and upper back and neck pain that are common in women with large breasts. She wanted relief as well as a more youthful breast appearance.
By choosing the Laser Bra procedure, the patient had an “internal brassiere” created using her own natural tissue. This technique attaches a specially-prepared flap of skin from the breast to the chest wall, anchoring the breasts in place so that additional drooping and sagging in the future is minimized. For her breast reduction, she had 180 grams of tissue removed from the right breast and 60 grams of tissue removed from the left breast.
The patient is shown here 1 month after her breast reduction near Beverly Hills, which is why scarring is still somewhat visible. Over time, her scars should continue to lighten and fade.
