- Breast Reduction (for Women)
Details for Case #8356
This 42 year old woman was tired of the pain and discomfort associated with having large breasts and came to our office for a Beverly Hills breast lift consultation. At her consult, her surgeon noted significant macromastia (presence of an excessive amount of breast tissue) in addition to ptosis (drooping of the breasts).
Before surgery, this woman wore a 38 DDD bra. During the breast reduction procedure, 470 grams (about 1 pound) of breast tissue was removed from the right breast and 430 grams (a little under 1 pound) was removed from the right breast. Different volumes of tissue were removed to correct some slight natural breast asymmetry.
A breast lift also was performed to raise the breasts to a more youthful position. The lift procedure also included a Stevens Laser Bra, which uses excess skin usually removed during the surgical procedure to anchor the breast to the chest wall, creating an “internal brassiere” that can support the breasts for years to come.
All of her breast surgeries were combined into a single outpatient surgical session, and her recovery following surgery went smoothly. This Long Beach breast reduction patient is extremely happy with her new appearance and increased comfort. An added benefit is that she can now shop for more flattering and feminine bras and the mainstream lingerie shops.
