- Breast Implant Correction
Details for Case #7804
This mother had received saline implants some time ago, but felt it was time to get her breasts re-enhanced. After breastfeeding two children she didn’t have the “perky” breast position she used to enjoy, and due to previous complications, her saline implant on the right side had deflated. She decided to talk over her options with one of Marina Plastic Surgery’s board-certified plastic surgeons. At 5′ 8″ and 140 pounds, this patient was tall enough that well-placed, larger-volume implants could look very natural, so she and her surgeon settled on higher-volume “gummy bear” Beverly Hills breast implants.
The gummy bear implants are very popular for replacement procedures because many women find they prefer the feel of the soft, cohesive gel, and many also trust today’s more sophisticated implant designs to create a more natural-looking result and the complications they experienced with older saline implants.
This patient’s surgeon first created periareolar incisions on each side, through which he removed her deflated right-side implant and her remaining 430cc saline implant. In her consultation the patient and surgeon had decided on a submuscular approach, so he inserted her new 600cc silicone-gel implants partially below the pectoral muscle on each side.
The surgeon aimed for a very natural look, and created proportional results to meet the patient’s desires. Her bra size changed from a 34C to a 34DD, a flattering, natural-looking size for her 5′ 8″, 140 lb body, and she is very happy with the results of her Los Angeles breast implant surgery.
