- Breast Implant Correction
Details for Case #7627
This 29 year old woman who had had a prior breast augmentation procedure from another practice and wanted her implants to be repositioned. She also was unhappy with the way her existing saline implants felt. She scheduled an appointment with a board-certified plastic surgeon at Marina Plastic Surgery Associates to discuss her options.
Breast augmentation revision in Los Angeles at our practice is increasingly popular, as our surgeons have become known as revision surgery specialists. Implant type and placement can make a significant difference in the ultimate feel and appearance of the breasts. This patient’s original implants contained saline, a sterile salt water solution. Rather than just readjusting her implants, her plastic surgeon suggested that she change to cohesive gel implants, also sometimes called “gummy bear implants.” These implants are often suggested for patients who want a more natural feel than that of saline implants.
This patient did opt to replace her saline implants with 385 cc silicone gel implants. During the procedure, her surgeon removed her implants, revised the pocket in which each breast implant would be placed, and inserted the new implants under her pectoral muscle. The procedure went very well and the patient began healing very quickly. She is pleased with the result of her second breast enlargement in Los Angeles.
