Details for Case #7561
This lovely 49-year-old woman came to Marina Plastic Surgery Associates complaining of hard and painful breasts. After having breast augmentation in the past, she had developed capsular contractures, where scar tissue forms around the implant and compresses it, making the breast feel hard. Wanting to meet with a qualified Los Angeles plastic surgeon who could help her, she scheduled a consultation at Marina Plastic Surgery Associates.
Upon examining her breasts, her surgeon suggested that he perform a breast revision, where he would remove her old saline implants and replace them with silicone gel implants. Once the scar tissue around the old implants was removed, the new implants could be placed below her pectoral muscles, creating a natural breast slope and making her breasts much softer and malleable.
During her breast enhancement in Los Angeles, her surgeon replaced her old 550cc saline breast implants with 354cc silicone gel implants. The new implants would feel more like natural breast tissue, and placing them under the muscle would help prevent capsular contractures from happening in the future.
Overall, she was very happy with the results. Her breasts are much softer and more symmetrical than before, and since her surgeon used an incision around the areolas (the darker skin around the nipple), the scar is hardly visible.
