This 35-year-old woman was unhappy with her breasts lack of volume. This patient knew that plastic surgery in L.A. for women with similar body and breast structure that could to help enhance her breasts. She made an appointment with a board-certified plastic surgeon at Marina Plastic Surgery Associates to learn more.

Taking into account her the anatomical structure of her body and breasts, her surgeon suggested specific options that would give her the results she wanted. She chose silicone gel breast implants sized 378 cc.

To insert the implants, her surgeon made incisions around her areolas (periareolar incisions). After incisions are made, many Los Angeles and Santa Monica plastic surgeons place the implants either under the pectoral muscle (submuscular placement) or directly behind the breast tissue and over the pectoral muscle (subglandular placement). For this patient, her surgeon placed her implants in submuscular pockets. Once her implants were sturdily placed, her incisions were closed using sutures and she began her quick road to recovery.
