Breast Augmentation Case

This patient, a 63-year-old woman, underwent a corrective breast augmentation procedure in Los Angeles to respond to issues caused by a previous breast enlargement procedure. She last had her breast implants replaced in 1990, and she had since developed capsular contracture in both breasts. This made her breasts hard to the touch and painful at times. At Marina Plastic Surgery, she got new implants and had both a capsulotomy and a capsulectomy.

Dr. Stevens and Dr. Spring periodically see patients seeking breast augmentation revision to correct capsular contracture. This condition occurs when the tissue that develops naturally around an implant becomes excessively tight and hard. A revision procedure improves the look and feel of the breasts, usually by replacing the implants.

As you can see in the photos, this woman’s breasts were asymmetrical and irregularly shaped prior to her augmentation revision at Marina Plastic Surgery. Her surgery evened out her breasts and gave them a much more natural look. She is incredibly pleased with her new, softer breasts.
